Creamy, thick taste and feel with notes of chestnut, raw cacao, and mild spice. Rebirth is a strong shou puerh with a smooth and velvety body. An incredibly patient tea, the name "Rebirth" refers to the many subtle flavors that arise through multiple steepings. An excellent cake to purchase and age, it will only become deeper and more complex with time. The cha qi (energy of the tea) is all enveloping, but not overpowering -- the flavor filling the whole mouth, and the energy settling deeply in the body. Shou puerh is particularly enjoyable in cooler, quieter, and more meditative seasons and times of day, due to its full body and strong flavor.

Shou puerh is an excellent companion for your meditative morning ritual, and our primary recommendation for those seeking to make the switch from coffee to tea.

Origin: Lao Man'e Village, Yunnan, China

Living Teas can be steeped many times. Enjoy small cups of tea, re-steeping the same leaves, rather than making a large pot or mug all at once.

· 4-6 grams of tea (approx. 1-2 teaspoons)
· 210°F water (near boiling)
· 3 seconds first steeping, then lengthening a few seconds with each brew

If oversteeped, Lao Ban Zhang area tea can get bitter. Try using a smaller amount of leaves to find the right balance of sweetness.

Rebirth makes a delicious and unique boiled tea. After brewing in your teapot, add the leaves to a glass kettle of water on the stove, revealing new flavors and making the most of your leaves.

This is purely Lao Man'e village ripe puerh tea harvested in spring 2022 and then wet piled in the late summer of 2022. Lao Man'e tea is something in between the bitterness of Jie Liang tea and the bittersweetness with fast and sweet huigan of Lao Ban Zhang tea. Lao Man'e Village teas come from an elevation of about 1600-1700 meters.

Lao Ban Zhang used to be managed by the Lao Man'e Bulang people, and its tea trees were planted by the Lao Man'e Bulang people, but then leased to the Aini people (a branch of the Hani people) who came here later.
