Brewing Instructions

Water Temp: 180-185 F/ 82-85C water with short infusion times (3s, 5s, 7s). Patient tea for many steepings.

Mao feng translates to 'fluffy peaks' in Chinese, and the meaning is two-fold. Specifically, 'fluffy' refers to the perpetual mist surrounding the tea plantations and the downy buds that mao feng tea bushes are famous for producing.

Green tea contains high levels of antioxidants, particularly catechins such as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Benefits may include fighting inflammation and oxidative stress. The caffeine in green tea is balanced by the actions of theanine, which has a calming effect to offset the effects of caffeine.
