Discover the rich world of Puerh tea with Living Tea founder Colin Hudon. Each month, Colin carefully curates a Puerh tea that exemplifies the qualities of a Living Tea, showcasing teas at their peak flavor or offering early access to rare, exceptional new finds.
Subscribers can look forward to receiving 50-100g of expertly sourced Puerh tea per month, either a Shou (ripe) or Sheng (raw) Puerh, depending on the season.
The darkness, depth, richness, energetics and fermentation of the tea for each month will vary, depending on the season. Generally, more grounding, calming and dark Puerh will feature during the Fall and Winter, while the Spring and Summer will see younger sheng puerh, sweeter, lighter, uplifting teas, puerh bud tip teas, and teas that support the energetic seasonal transitions.
How does the subscription work?

- Subscriptions ship on the 15th of each month. Members who join between the 1st and the 15th will receive the upcoming selection as their first shipment, dispatched on the 15th. Members who join between the 15th and the end of the month will receive the current selection as their first shipment immediately upon sign-up. Subsequent orders will be shipped on the 15th of each month.
- Your original method of payment is then automatically charged monthly.

Chun Yun Aged Maojian Shou Puerh, 1990's
An aged 1990s Chun Yun Maojian shou puerh, this tea offers a quietly elegant expression of depth without heaviness. The liquor is smooth and clean, with notes of forest floor, damp earth, and wet fallen leaves, offering the scent of a humid grove after rain. I chose this tea because it reminded me of the first rains of spring, when winter is still loosening its grip and the landscape begins to breathe again.
Subtle, composed, and deeply comforting, it is a shou for those who appreciate maturity, restraint, and the gentle turning of the seasons.

Fire Horse is a 1990s Ginseng Shou Puerh brick, traditionally stored in Hong Kong, offering a soothing yet vital tea. The liquor brews a dark reddish-brown, clear and refined, with a pervasive, clean body. Flavors unfold in layers: wet earth, Chinese medicinal herbs, astragalus, cacao, oats and hay. The texture is round, thick without heaviness, and the fermentation is well-integrated—smooth and free of harsh edges. The qi is calming, settling the nervous system while providing a subtle inner warmth that feels both grounding and lightly activating.

The camphor note is clean and uplifting, unfolding into blue-green eucalyptus, young forest herbs, and a bright mineral sweetness that feels both refreshing and deep.
