Oolong Tea Mocktail
A Bright, Uplifting Sip for Gatherings
When the holiday season begins to fill with gatherings, rich foods, and long evenings together, it’s refreshing to have something light and vibrant to sip—especially for loved ones who prefer a non-alcoholic option.
This Oolong Tea Mocktail is crisp, aromatic, and wonderfully balanced. The depth of the oolong anchors the drink, while fresh ginger and grapefruit bring brightness, and a splash of pure grape juice adds gentle sweetness. Finished with citrus sparkling water and fresh mint, it’s a beautiful way to offer something special without effort or complexity.
Serve it during cocktail hour, alongside dinner, or as a simple afternoon refresher. It takes just a few minutes to make, yet it feels unforgettable—which is exactly what we love about tea-based drinks.
Ingredients
-
Fresh ginger, thinly sliced
-
Fresh grapefruit slices
-
Strong-brewed oolong tea, cooled
-
Splash of pure grape juice
-
Citrus sparkling water
-
Fresh mint
Instructions
-
Brew the oolong
Prepare a strong cup of oolong tea using your favorite leaves. Let it cool to room temperature (or chill it briefly if you prefer). -
Build the base
In a glass, add 2–3 thin slices of fresh ginger and a couple of grapefruit slices. Gently muddle to release the aromatics. -
Add tea & sweetness
Pour the cooled oolong over the fruit and ginger. Add a splash of pure grape juice — just enough to bring a soft, natural sweetness. -
Top with sparkle
Add ice if you like, then top with citrus sparkling water. Give a gentle stir. -
Finish with mint
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint for brightness.
Serving Notes
This mocktail works beautifully with lightly roasted or high-mountain oolongs, which offer floral and honeyed notes that pair well with citrus. For a softer drink, use less ginger; for more warmth and complexity, add an additional slice or two.
It’s a simple, elegant way to bring tea into your gatherings—refreshing, grounding, and easy to share with the people you love.
