Nearly four decades of age have refined this Nannuo Mountain tea toward elegance, a word often used to describe Nannuo teas. Dry cedar, sandalwood and camphor move through dark honey, dried fruit and a deep medicinal sweetness. The liquor is smooth, silky, creamy and cooling with composed, structured finish.

Nannuo teas are often valued for occupying a kind of middle path: generally less bold than Bulang teas, yet more structured than many Yiwu teas, and capable of becoming remarkably elegant with time. This tea beautifully embodies that character. Its energy is calm, centered and quietly expansive. It does not announce itself loudly, but continues to deepen in the body and in the attention long after the cup is empty.
