Gaiwan - Wood Fired

This gaiwan is the work of Montana-based ceramicist Cooper Jeppesen, a stunning fusion of craftsmanship and natural beauty. It was wood fired in an Anagram Kiln in Whitefish, Montana. No glaze was applied to the exterior. Its surface is naturally finished with melted wood ash from the firing process, creating rich texture and one-of-a-kind markings.

This piece is handcrafted, showcasing earthy tones, natural patterns, and glaze variations from wood ash. The gaiwan's elegant design, consisting of a cup and fitted lid, offers both aesthetic appeal and functionality for steeping and serving a variety of teas.
