One of the best Water Fairy Yenchas we’ve ever come across, this Spring 2023 traditional roast Fujian Cliff tea is incredibly flavorful. With a deep woodsy, floral profile, the tea evokes images of large flowers growing near a bubbling spring high in the mountains. Darker than other Shui Xian, this traditional roast yencha also carries some stewed fruit notes and the firing process, involving wood charcoal, leaves a slight smoky aroma and flavor. Grown at high altitude in the Wuyi Mountains where the temperatures are cool, the air humid and the soil rocky, Yenchas are arguably the finest Oolongs in the world, especially when grown within the national park, like this one. For traditional Oolong lovers, it doesn’t get better than this tea.
