Shady Grove
Bushy Loose-Leaf Shou Puerh 1980's
Description
A friend in Taipei shared this beautiful aged shou puerh, aged the last 25 years in the mountains southwest of Taipei and Yunnan before that. We were only able to get a small quantity to share. Shady Grove is made from grade-one leaves, called gongting (imperial court) Puerh or "white lotus golden needle." This rare tea is fragrant, sweet and smooth. The aged flavor is rich and full with woodsy complex forest floor flavors and deep, relaxing energy. This is the type of tea that demonstrates what's possible for aged shou. A very special tea.
Origin: Yunnan, China
