Inner Light is beautifully balanced with floral, earthy notes in the "canopy" of the first steepings, and then as the ball opens fully, flavors of pie crust, French brioche, dates, and wet earth. Some slight astringency around the outer edges gives the tea a nice structure and mouthfeel. This not a subtle tea, but there are subtle dimensions to it that are surprising and keep you coming back. The energy is slightly more uplifting than relaxing, strong and pervasive. There's a strong core to the tea, but more going on in the "treble" notes. This is one of the best teas Living Tea has produced, and we keep finding ourselves wanting to drink it everyday, ever since the finished tea arrived a couple weeks ago. There's simultaneously something refined and elegant while also feeling organic and wild. It's hard to describe. Try it and see for yourself.
