Nectar - Lincang Mountain Old-Growth Purple Tea - 2 oz.
Nectar is the first old-growth purple bud Dien Hong we've carried. We're overjoyed with the depth, complexity and beauty of this tea, which we discovered through a friend in Kunming, China. Flavors of jujube dates, figs, stewed plums and berries emerge from large healthy leaves. Perhaps due to the age of the trees, this purple tea is less flavor-forward than our well-loved Gateway of Spirit Purple tea, but more interesting in the subtlety of layers.
We suggest brewing Nectar with water just shy of a boil and longer steepings (4-6 seconds initially). We also recommend brewing gong fu and filling your pot, allowing the roast to come through in the stronger brew. These are simply our preferences, and we encourage you to brew it however you wish.
