Dan Cong - Wuyi Mtn Cliff Tea (Yancha) - 1 oz
Roasted nectarine, white flowers and dried fruit, this hand-processed Wuyi Yencha is full-flavored and richly satisfying. The noticeable roast is well-balanced by the floral fruitiness. Hand-processed Yencha from within Wuyi National Park (Zhen Yan or "True Cliff Tea") is rare and very special. The trees in the park tend to be older and grown with the proper distance between them, so their roots have room to breathe, growing deep and wide to absorb all the nutrients of this amazing tea-growing region. One can literally taste the many cliffs, stone terraces, rocky soil, gorges, rivers and other dramatic scenery that comprise the terroir where Dan Cong hails from. Wuyi is the birthplace of Oolong, and one can understand why it such a special place with this tea. For those of you who love the fruity floral qualities of our famous Gateway of Spirit Purple tea, Dan Cong will make an excellent addition to your collection.
We suggest brewing this tea around 190F, with very short initial steepings. When brewed, the tea produces a very bright, lustrous and clear liquor, in yellowish orange color. Enjoy!
