Bamboo Moon is a 20 year old bamboo-wrapped brick tea from Menghai. The bamboo gives a particular sweetness to the tea that’s so approachable. It’s always a good sign when you find yourself wanting to drink a tea day-after-day, never growing tired of it. Bamboo shoots, skinless marcona almonds, and light coffee flavors yield a tea with sparkling edges. Rich, but not too thick, incredibly patient and smooth. Bamboo Moon is ideal for an afternoon tea session that’s relaxed and unhurried, perfect for unwinding at the end of a long day.
The dry storage has lent a clean taste to the tea with no lingering excessive fermentation flavors or funkiness. It’s almost impossible to oversteep this tea and we find that with a slightly longer steeping, there’s a long-lasting huigan that’s very pleasant.
