Andalusia
High Altitude Mao Feng Red Tea 2024
Description
The chocolatey aroma of this Dian Hong (or Red Tea) opens the senses, leading to a slightly smoky, roasted tea with honey notes. The flavor is bold, strong, polished and malty while the energy is enlivening. The expert processing comes through in the balance of robust and delicate flavors. The Wu Liang Mountains are home to some of the highest altitude tea garden in existence. Typically, the tea was processed as a puerh, but we find it fantastic as a red tea. We hope you love this unique, rare example of fine Dian Hong.
The name Andalusia is somewhat arbitrary, but somehow this tea felt refined like a well-appointed lanai full of hand-carved Moorish furniture somewhere in southern Spain. Some teas leave us with curious impressions.
