Meditation

Describe your practice and/or why mindfulness is important to you.

My meditation practice is at its beginning stage. But I am encouraged to keep doing it more and more because I can already see the tremendous benefit it is having on my life.

Before I discovered tea and meditation I would find mindfulness by hiking up a mountain. Meditation creates the same amount of mindfulness as being out on the trail with the forest surrounding you. But now I can enter the forest no matter where I am.

Empathy, love, and patience for all living things.

Describe one health practice that is non-negotiable for you each day.

Food. We have greatly lost the knowledge of how we can use plants as medicine and I deeply enjoy uncovering this ancient wisdom so I can help others find harmony with nature and themselves through localized, plant based food that heals them and the Earth.

Tradition

Describe one tradition that you connect with regularly and why.

I enjoy learning about Buddhism, Taoism, Ayurveda, Shumei, and other ancient traditions. Their ideas help me understand how humans can better connect to the energy and power of nature.

Methodology

What's the most common method you use for tea preparation and what are you excited to learn more about?

I love the simplicity of the leaves in a bowl when I take my tea into nature. But I also love practicing moving meditation with a side handle practice in the morning.

Describe one way that you support your community and what would help you to support others more effectively

I have a blog (followthewilddreamer.com) where I highlight dreamers who are working to build a better future and a stronger local community through food, wellness, and adventure. Whether that is a local farmer caring for the land and growing healthy food, or a tea enthusiast teaching the way of tea and meditation. The blog is a place where I hope to inspire people to uncover their life’s purpose so they can live more abundant and healthy lives.

I dream of one day creating a farm where people can have better access to healthy food and nature. Where we can all come together to teach, learn and celebrate ancient wisdom and the many gifts of life.
