Aroma of nectarines, leather and fresh green leaves. Stunning pale apricot color with flavors of mildly smoked apricot and stonefruit. Smooth and light body with very little astringency. One can taste the health of the trees in the purity of the liquor. Very full-flavor, yet not overbearing like many young puerhs. The tea has mellowed due to the age of the old-growth wild trees. This exquisite tea will continue to age beautifully over the next few years.
The Gao Li Gong Mountains are located in the Western Yunnan Highlands straddling the border of South China and Northern Myanmar (Burma). This protected World Biosphere Nature Reserve is home to an incredible array of plant and animal species, including these remote old-growth tea trees. Living Tea is lucky to get such remote, old-growth trees from a pristine nature reserve. The clarity of the terroir is evident in the strong Qi and clean, pure tea.
